THE VINEYARD

The property covers 4.7 hectares at approximately 600 feet above sea level. One hectare under rustic vines since 2003 with an additional hectare, under viniferas, since June 2021. We cultivate 6 grape varieties: Adalmiina and Chardonnay, Radisson, Sabrevois, Pionnier and Pinot Noir. The vineyard is divided into 5 blocks: the Heritage Block, Les Mal-Aimés, P2, Adalmiina and the Rockstar Block.

The vineyard benefits from several factors that make it a unique site for growing vines. Located in the heart of the Laurentian Piedmont, our site is greatly influenced by the topography of the region and its soil type, Pontiac Loam. These soils consist of a thin deposit of loam on a clayey base.

Lacustro-marine deposits, whose fine texture has some similarities with marine clays, cover a large area of the region. Due to their texture and geographical position, the vineyard soils are well drained, permeable and well aerated. The north and south orientation of the vines allows for maximum exposure to the sun.

Morning fog cools the vineyard, and late morning and mid-afternoon winds act as a dryer, ensuring that the grapes are free of moisture and mold and therefore disease. When the winter season comes, our geographical position ensures excellent snow cover that protects the vines from our harsher climate. Despite a shorter growing season than other regions further south, it is these factors that allow us to cultivate the grapevine in optimal growing conditions.

BIODIVERSITY

Preserving biodiversity is a major concern for us. The biodiversity of the vineyard reflects the natural balance of the environment and its interactions with the fauna and flora on the property. A well-established ecosystem contains a community of living beings in balance with each other and with their environment. We firmly believe that the more numerous and genetically diverse these interactions are, the higher the biodiversity and the more sustainable our ecosystem will be. For us, only a quality environment and viticulture that respects the natural balances between the soil and the plant allow the production of exceptional wines.

PHILOSOPHY

In order to always represent each vintage from vineyard to bottle, we only produce small lots of artisanal wines in limited quantities, and rarely the exact same wine twice. We want each wine to express its personality according to the vintage, its own identity with its label and its distinct name. Our tendency to avoid repetition allows us to reinvent ourselves a little with each vintage and to really let the wines speak for the vineyard.

Vinification and aging are done in concrete, stainless steel, amphora or oak when a wine or style of wine lends itself to it. We use sulphites in minimal quantities, only when necessary.

We do not seek to produce "natural" wines, but rather quality wines, which fully reflect the site, the vintage and the terroir from which they come. For us, the quality and integrity of our wines come first, without compromise.
